Here's ghost story that REALLY happened to me.

Back in 1999, I was working in a locked Alzheimer's unit in Amarillo. Of course on the "graveyard shift".

It was almost 4:00 a.m. and I was making rounds on my residents. The unit I worked on had locked doors at both ends, and you could see out these doors to a hallway and another set of locked doors that lead to an assisted care unit.

The outside doors to this whole unit was locked around 9 to 10 p.m. or so I was told. There should have been NO WAY for anyone to get into this part of the building.

So, I am walking down the hall and I could see out into that area and noticed a man in black standing there (no it wasn't Johnny Cash). He was very tall, over 6 foot, and was dressed in Amish-style clothing. You know, the long black suit jacket, black pants and tall hat. I couldn't actually see his face or his feet.

I thought to myself "what is he doing here?" So, I decided to follow him.

I walked out into that corridor and he started walking faster. I sped up my pace, too.

He turned the corner and--I KID YOU NOT!!!--walked right through the drinking water fountain that was on the wall.

I was like OMG, did I really just see that, or am i just tired or what?? So, I went up to the nurse's desk and told this whole story to the charge nurse.

She said "ah you seen the man in black. He comes around every once in a while and only a few people can see him."

Then she went on to tell me about a little old lady that would come out of her room and walk to the nurses desk. When you got up to ask what she needed or help her, she would fall on the floor. Then when you walked out around from behind the nurse's desk to where she SHOULD be....she would be gone!

What does the land remember here?
